Trash Bags: $12,000?
At the January 27th, 2021 board of directors meeting, Dan Hillman stated,
"We bought two golf carts.
They're used golf carts,
but we bought two golf carts for less than our previous board was paying for one year of trash bags.
'Cause, yes, they were spending $12,000 a year on trash bags."
This is not true.
The table shown below is a summary of the amount spent on trash bags from February 2018 through January 2019 (one year).
As you can see, the total spent on trash bags ($4,210.47) is nowhere near $12,000.

A BIT OF HISTORY:
When Village Townhomes came into existence, about 14 years ago, there was a problem with leaves.
They were all over and in many places more than a foot high.
Every week homeowners would bag the leaves themselves,
and every week the lawn maintenance company would blow them from the parking lot onto the grass and against the buildings.
As you can imagine, when homeowners saw this, it infuriated them,
and the homeowners made their thoughts known to the management company.
When control of the property was turned over to the homeowners,
they spoke up about the leaf situation at board meetings.
The management company representative, probably unknowingly, made the situation worse by
saying that it would be too difficult for the lawn maintenance company to collect leaves in some
places and not others.
Again, this pushed the homeowners a bit too far.
One stood up and said something like, "Okay, then just get rid of all of them."
Then other frustrated homeowners echoed this thought.
Hence, from then on, the lawn maintenance people bagged all the leaves on the property.
